The Steaming Cup is a well-established coffee shop and cafe located in the historic Nickell building in downtown Waukesha. The building was saved from extinction by Steve and Christine VanderBloemen and partners in the 1990’s and subsequently established as a coffee shop by Kerry and Terry Mackay in 2004. Purchased by Cristina and Jason Tofte in 2015, the cafe and coffee shop offers a warm, welcoming environment where attention to detail is paramount.
Upon your visit, you’ll find a bustling cafe that serves as both a community hub and a casual gathering place for friends and neighbors. Inside our historic doors, you’ll encounter a bright, lively atmosphere where chandeliers are juxtaposed with playful local art, comfortable seating and a coffee table showpiece made from an old espresso machine.
Grab a quick cup of coffee to go, indulge in a honey latte using honey from Concord Farms in Sullivan, Wisconsin, or warm up with a house-blended lavender chai or a premiere selection of black, green or herbal teas. Pair your beverage with a variety of delectable options including soups, sandwiches and salads or a selection of scratch-made bakery including scones, muffins, coffee cake, brownies or bakery style cookies.
Whether you soak in the sun at one of the cafe’s window-side lounge chairs, gather with friends for lunch or dinner at a comfortable booth or patio-side table, you’re sure to find a bit of awesome at The Steaming Cup.
